Brad Cocheran
It was business for Brad and Corrie, nearly from the beginning. Starting their first company at 20 years old, Brad and Corrie embarked on a journey of business adventure in the very infancy of their marriage. Through the 23 years, they have started and operated over 20 businesses.
Brad began learning efficiencies while working at McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Yum Brands Inc restaurants while working through high school. Promoted to Restaurant General Management at Yum Brands stores, Brad received his first exposure to efficient operational processes and profit/loss statements.
Soon after marriage, Brad and Corrie moved to Denver (Corrie’s home town), where Brad became a Microsoft Certified Instructor. Working with a variety of people, many officers of Fortune 500 companies, the Cocheran’s were introduced to the idea of business and business ownership. Cocheran Consulting, LLC was soon formed to provide office design services for clients. At the same time, Brad partnered with a young family from Israel, also living in Denver, opening a shipping company for encrypted software dongles.
Through the years, Brad and Corrie have established businesses in the sectors of: retail (paintball, hunting, and firearms store), emergency lighting installation company, trucking and transportation, oil field services, business consulting and design services, rental car operations, airplane flight and training school, airplane mechanic operations, aircraft dealership, business and residential construction (Oklahoma and Colorado), cigar retail and club services, property rental, and accounting, payroll, and tax services.
Brad is a Nationally Certified Bookkeeper, has a Masters in Accounting and Financial Management, and has experience managing 100+ employees and $100M in annual revenue. Brad and Corrie started Mud Mixers, LLC in 2012 which grew into a $30M+ annual revenue business, and sold in 2015, packaged with the trucking company and liquid drilling fluids plant created in support of Mud Mixers, LLC.
Corrie Cocheran
Corrie never wanted to be an accountant. Watching her father fight through tax season as a youth, she flatly and repeatedly stated, “I NEVER want to be an accountant!”. However, we all know the law of “Never say Never”, and so it came to be that Corrie took the road she was sure she was least likely to travel.
As it turns out, Corrie actually does really enjoy the nerdy numbers and complexity of accounting. This she learned through starting multiple businesses with her husband of 24 years, Brad Cocheran. Being married to a true entrepreneur, she was always up for the adventure and found a way to be a part of every one of them. Packing the kids up and bringing them to the family store, Corrie encountered her first experience with estimated taxes, budgets, and bookkeeping. As the years passed, the companies grew and so did her passion for the field; maybe it runs in her blood. Soon, Corrie earned her Master’s in Accounting and Financial Management and as never looked back.
Accounting isn’t all Corrie does however, even though it may seem to be the case during tax season. She is also a homeschool mom of three daughters, a private pilot and dabbles in gardening, golf and cigars as time permits. Oh, and Corrie loves scuba diving, almost as much as accounting.
